Tummy time

Since Stella started rolling she's been spending a bit more time on her tummy....she doesn't like it of course, and there's lots of squealing and sighing! But she's getting used to it, slowy but surely, and she's even getting up on those arms a bit :)

A tip: Stella seems to like lying on the sleeping bag more than anywhere else, maybe because it's slippy and makes crunchy noises?

Rugby World Cup

The RWC is in full swing, and there couldn't be a more excited bunch than us here on the plots! We all got our kits on last weekend for the Boks' opening game against Wales....We had a a bit of rocky start, but looked much better against Fiji last Saturday, and everyone is rather excited about what's to come :)

Stella seems rather fascinated by the rugby...I'm not sure if it's the rugby, or just the TV in general?

Spring!

We've been having some chilly, windy days lately. But for the most part, Spring has definitely sprung! And we couldn't be happier :)

The bush next to the pool looks beautiful in purple!

Smelly jasmin at the front door.

Peach blossoms...

And my chrysanthemums....can't believe they're coming up already!

Stella-bella needs a hat to go outside these days ~

Roll over, roll over

A while back Janine asked me if Stella has rolled yet....which got me thinking. Stella hates lying flat on her back, because of the reflux I think. But I decided to try and let her spend as much time on her back as possible, so that she can get used to it. She's much better now, and as for the rolling, well she's making rapid progress!

At first it started with a roll onto her side.....

Then the other day, I put her down quickly while I went to pack the car for work, and I came back to find her like this:

...on the edge of the coffee table!!!
OK! No more putting her down on the coffee table, or any elevated surface for that matter. Bad mommy. I am so proud though :)

I ♥ my bunny

When Aunty Lynn Sissons gave me this pink bunny for my baby shower, I just knew Stella was going to love it. And she does! She always sleeps with it. In fact, I don't think she can fall asleep unless she has the ears all up in her face where she can feel them.

My little squirt, I love this bunny as much as you do. But not as much as I love you!!

Not the littlest

Stella's not the littlest baby in town anymore.....Baby Charl Butler arrived on Monday, born at the Vryburg hospital. We have all been waiting eagerly for him :) I must say though, Stella's not that much bigger than him! And with his mop of gorgeous brown he hair, he could really lend some to her!

Hello, you cute thing

It's hard to believe that Stella was once even smaller than this little fella!

On another note, Stella is loving being around the pool....I think she can't wait to get in there!

Solid

At first I didn't plan on giving Stella solids until 6 months....but there are a few reasons now why I've changed my mind.
First of all, Dr Kuhn seems to think it will help her reflux. Actually he suggested starting when she was 3 months already! Her reflux is so bad, I spend most of my day catching her projectile vomit, and mopping both myself and her up. So I'll try anything to make it better!
She has also been chewing her little fists off. I know it's supposed to be normal at this stage, but she really has a go at them, and she's drooling like a pro too! I swear she could be teething...
And then there's her milk....which she just doesn't seem to like, or particularly want to drink either.

So today, after much consideration, I gave the little mite her first pap meal. I decided on the Hipp brand of organic rice cereal. And Purity as a back-up. And it actually went quite well! I gave her the Hipp, and she seemed to love it! I'm happy to say I think I made the right choice starting now. We'll take it slow, and see how it goes.

I'm ready!

Uuuuuh...not so sure about this...

Hmmmmm, it's nice! Give me more!

Can I feed myself yet?
